Being able to hand a new owner a log of all of the repairs, renovations, and other work that has been done to the home, as well as other information about those repairs, gives them a wealth of information about the home and how to take care of it.
Key Details to Note in Your Home Binder:
- What was the issue?
- What was the fix or improvement?
- Who (company and name) did the work?
- Staple or take a photo of the business card of the contractor to get all the contact info too!
- When was the work done?
- How much did it cost?
- Include the receipt if you can!
- Were any follow-ups needed?
- How was your experience with them? Would you use them again?
- Is there a warranty? If so, for how long and on what?
- If you have documentation of the warranty, include it!
